How does The Will of the Many end?

The Iudicium collapses into a massacre when Anguis infiltrators replace the island's safety teams and begin killing students. Vis survives being stabbed and thrown from the tower by a black-eyed Emissa, carries the dying Callidus back to the Academy along with the Heart of Jovan, and wins the contest. He wakes days later with his infected left arm amputated, refuses Veridius's plea to join Religion, and takes his Senate appointment with Governance instead. The Epilogue then reveals that the Synchronization in the western Labyrinth triplicated him across three realities.

What happens in the Epilogue of The Will of the Many?

A second Vis wakes in a stone chamber in the western ruins, whole with both arms, and is welcomed by a stranger to a place named Luceum. A third Vis wakes in Obiteum, greeted by Caeror Telimus — Ulciscor's supposedly dead brother, very much alive. Caeror explains that the Labyrinth did not split Vis but triplicated him, and that the three Vises must work together against a threat far bigger than the Hierarchy.

Does Callidus die in The Will of the Many?

Yes. During the Iudicium massacre, Anguis operatives torture Callidus nearly to death, and Vis finds him bleeding out under a tree. Callidus hands Vis a small white medallion and begs him to explain to his father the reason he fell from Class Three to Class Seven, then dies before help can come. Vis carries his body back to the Academy, vows vengeance on Veridius aloud, and later joins Governance — his friend's father's faction — to deliver that final message.

Why does Emissa stab Vis in The Will of the Many?

At the tower, moments after saving Vis from a guard carrying a Pre-Cataclysm parasite at the base of his skull, Emissa's own eyes turn black. She demands the Heart of Jovan, stabs Vis, and hurls him into the river below — though the relic snaps back to his grip as he drops. Veridius later explains that Emissa turned on him after seeing the blackening bite on his arm, concluding he had been tainted by whatever lies in the western ruins.

Is Caeror Telimus alive at the end of The Will of the Many?

Yes. Caeror, who supposedly died by suicide during an Iudicium three years earlier, appears in the Epilogue in Obiteum, where he greets the third Vis in person. His survival confirms that Ulciscor was right to doubt the official story of his brother's death. Caeror warns that the three Vises, now spread across parallel realities, will have to cooperate to survive what is coming.

What does the ending of The Will of the Many set up for The Strength of the Few?

The sequel follows three versions of Vis at once — one recovering in Res, the original reality, one in Luceum, and one in Obiteum alongside Caeror Telimus. In Res, Vis holds a Governance appointment, a public vow of vengeance against Veridius, and proof that leaders within Military secretly funded the Anguis, whose commander Sedotia is really Relucia Telimus. Someone has also left his childhood wooden ship, carved with his true name Diago, at his bedside — a sign that his identity as the prince of Suus is no longer safe.
